We were talking about not having a lot of ambition lately... When isolating started I started sewing like crazy. That is how I got all the melons sew on the Ice dyed Double Wedding ring. With one row finished it has stood lonely on the wall staring at me ... sometimes I can almost here it saying... only a day or so and you will be done.
I cut out a whole quilt for a quilt of houses... I can't remember the pattern and I can't find the instructions...
Followed mad sewing of masks for a few weeks and then scrub caps... that turned into cutting caps for others.. The back acted up ... But you know me go go go than crash.
I have been trying to get back in to working on my own projects. I finished a few more masks for close friends and family. Mended my dads coat and helped my mom cut out a quilt. I also have played a great deal of Ticket to Ride on my tablet.
Inertia... is needed here.
So I cleaned up the ice dying paraphernalia to get laundry done. And then I decided the reason why I did not want to sew was I had piles every where. I just tired looking at it.
I spent half of yesterday and most of today just folding fabric off the floor. I can finally find the corner. I found a few things to. The floor isn't clear yet but I finally can reach the design wall. I will carry on cleaning up after the weekend.
We are going to our happy place. Open the cottage. We have our lists. We are taking everything with us. And will come home on Monday. I'm going to take my camera and try to take pictures that reflect what makes it such a happy place for me. This Jo needs to get her mojo back so she can sewjo.
I think your project with your cousin is great. Remember some peoples weeds are other peoples flowers. Think of the delight of a young child picking those yellow flowers and bring mom, dad and grandparents a bouquet. Who could refuse them? It will be interesting to see what prints.
I am hoping the Trillium's are out. That is spring for me more than Tulips or Daffodils.
I hope to make things a little less complicated. Instead of striving to do more I want to enjoy more.
I love the pictures of the car wash.... I would not have gotten where you were. In the last one I see a dog face.
I miss our photo challenge of channeling Vivian. Or the day we took a trip to take pictures of Dufferin Gardens in the Falls.
I think I need to take my less complicated back into my practice. Trying to learn it all is one of my perfectionist traits but maybe just enjoying the journey should be more fun. Remind me of this when I go all uber on something new.
Sit on your porch and observe the world. That's what we did as kids... It was always good fun.
But I also enjoy not stepping on fabric...
Off to the woods... I'll check back on Monday.
