Morning Jo.
Your ice dyed blocks are beautiful. I love the flowers. It's a little bit of shibori and a little bit if resist kind of dying.
What are you going to make with them? Maybe just simple big block quilt. Big block to show off that beautiful patterning. Or maybe another Double Wedding ring? Are you liking the piecing? It's a little more challenging doing the curved piecing but it's satisfying. Yes it takes a long time to make a quilt.

Here's what I did with mine. I used your ice dyed blocks for the centers and solid fabrics for the rings. It's just random placement of the colours. I think I used about 6 different colours of solids for the rings. I envision these sister quilts on the beds on the porch at your cottage. Maybe a photo op soon.
Since my longarm is in isolation it hasn't been quilted yet. not sure how I will quilt it.
My stack of work for the longarm is growing. Soon I hope.
I did another scrappy quilt. I like to call it zigzag. Again just random placement of 2.5 strips. It's quick and colourful. The stitching is just kind of mindless. And a lot of the fabric is from friends. I have some sewing friends who save me their cast off fabric. Its like Christmas when i get one of the parcels.
I am always scattered about my work. I call it attention deficit disorder. When I find them piling up too much I just start something totally new..makes me feel better. I think I have learned just to embrace the experimental mind. We are exploring a lot of new ideas and methods.
My cousin and I have a summer project in the works. We are going to collect flowers all summer and press them. When I say flowers I mean that Nancy is going to collect flowers from her stunning gardens and I will collect weeds and leaves and nonsense from my walks. We have her handy husband making us flower presses. We'll collect and press all summer in the hopes of having a big collection ready for some awesome art come early fall. I hope that the paper that we use for layering will also be good for use in some of our projects. i am hoping for some botanical printing, eco printing, gelli plate prints . Lots and lots of good stuff.
Now I will leave you with some inspirational photos from my travels.
Do you know where I have been?
