Slow Stitching.... and To do list.

Hi Karen .

It was a beautiful weekend at the cottage. It was hotter outside the cottage than in the cottage when we arrived.

We took everything with us we would need to open the cottage, eat and live for the weekend. It is strange because we try to support local business while we are there. But here is a bit of Muskoka for you to enjoy. You will recognise the view.

And you were so right it was a good place to go. All was good with the place and it will be there when we can go.

I took the weekend to work on my slow stitch eco print hanging. I not sure it will be for a table or a wall. But it has been sitting around for awhile. I embroidered all the veins of the leaves. These were black berry leaves. This was the "iron blanket" of cotton that was made.

There is just a tiny section of the seed stitch left to do. Then I will do some stitch in the sashing. Then I will see what I do next.

I love the glue stencils you are doing . I had forgotten about doing that. Sun printing, mono printing etc. will be fun. I will have to find the glue gun.

On my getting things done list I have undated my list.

I know this is not your style... but when things are out of control in my world I have to pull back and go to my lists and form a plan.

I am totally not going to admit how much I have to do... but I can knock off a bunch by just matching done tops with batting and backing. DD is going to keep me accountable.

The other thing I have done after cleaning up my scraps last week is I am giving myself a challenge. I spend an enormous amount of time looking for things. I have also issued a challenge to some friends to find an clean up something small each week.

This week was cutting tools. Scissors and rotary cutting tools.  You will laugh at this.
Me who can never find a rotary cutter or a pair of snips... They were all hiding in bags, drawers and dark places.

So not a lot of creative new work going on but I feel this is what I need to do now... at this time.

Today it is not as hot... I am kind of glad but sad. I loved the warm weather at the cottage but we came home to some broken things... so repair men have come and gone. Dishwasher could be fixed... air conditioner can not... Good news is we can easily get an up dated new air conditioner soon. It is hard when DS2 can not sleep do to heat when on nights.

It will be good to hear from you soon.

Jo
