Hi Jo.
I was having coffee this morning with a friend and we talked about how we honour our work. I think that one of the best ways to honour our work is to finish it.
It's always so exciting to start something new. Push the other stuff out of the way...and wait until its buried only to be rediscovered sometime later, and started to be finished again.
The pink Hole in the Barn door quilt hanging on the line was started by my paternal grandmother Lila Smith Simpson sometime in the 50's I think. She finished the top. My mom kept the top in her cedar chest for may years ..probably close to 50. I inherited it..well really i grabbed it before anyone else had a chance...and I held on to it for a decade or two.
And last year I finished the quilt.
And I honour it. I put a label on it.. with all of our names. Maybe I should leave room for more names to be added. For those who love it after me.
I know you are busy with family stuff. See you soon I hope.
