Sometimes Challenges Are Good...

Karen....

We all have been having challenges lately. We always have them .... they come and they go. Would you not agree?

Most of the time we judge challenges. Good or Bad Are Incomplete Stories was a TED Talk I listened to helped me think about challenges in a different way. Heather Lanier

I recommend you to listen to it. And tell me what you think.

When we talked yesterday we set ourselves a challenge. Well, I more of voluntold you of a challenge. I proposed we use up a box of fabric. My box of fabric from early pieces I and some we dyed together using Procion MX dyes.

Time to use up some fabric.

 Proposal/Challenge:

  1.  Cut up box of fabric using AccuQuilt Cutter.
  2. Cuts to be random. AKA to use any cut from the 8" Cube set.
  3. Then to piece the assorted shapes into a quilt.
  4. You may add other fabric but you must use up all the shapes.
  5. The shapes cut were divided equally.
  6. Something must be a complete top by December 15th, 2020 ( we both work better with deadlines.)
  7. Post process pictures if you like here.
Now this is pretty formal for us, Karen to actually write down what we are going to do.

Now let the games begin! We have our blocks cut...

Our brown paper bags are full!

Brown paper packages tied up in string... or not.

The fabric from the off cuts....

And we are all done! - For the day.

But not for me... I went home and sorted my pieces. I know I have to be organized. And I went through the scraps and cut off all the two small pieces. I am going to make a surprise bonus project.

My left over scraps sorted.

I am highly excited to have a challenge. A good challenge.

I hope you are excited too!

Jo
